Inclusive Environment

A youth festival is organized every year for students from various institutions to participate in a cultural program. Annual day is another celebration where students from are provided a platform to exhibit their tradition and culture through various art forms. Russian, Bhutan cultural exchange programs are also organized by the institution to create awareness of international tradition and culture too. The art of Yoga and meditation which is our traditional Indian art is inculcated to the students and public.

Pongal Celebration

The regional festival of Tamil Nadu is PONGAL (Farmer’s Festival). This is celebrated in the campus every year. Students from Kerala, Northeast, and Northern India get to know the tradition and appreciate the practice of worshipping Sun and nature


Onam Celebration

Every year the students and staffs of all the departments celebrate Onam in the campus irrespective of the religion. The entire tradition of Onam is exhibited in the campus right from pookolam, chendamelam upto evening feast. The institution fosters the communal harmony among students hailing from various states and regions.


Christmas And Ramzan Celebration

Christmas and Ramzan festivals are also celebrated in the campus. Students are given special permission to attend the prayers on Friday especially in the afternoon by providing transport facilities for day scholars and hostellers. Exclusive food timings are maintained as per their custom.


Budha Temple

A Budha temple is constructed in the campus for students of north eastern states of India. It is not limited to a particular religion and is open all students.

Tamil Language

SSM College of engineering is truly committed in bringing out the values and cultures of Tamil Society by organizing various workshops and conferences such as International “World Tamil Heritage Conference“ in the campus. Delegates and Scholars from various parts of the world attend the conference and deliver their talk about the language. Students, Staffs, Government official and public are invited to attend the conference.


Japanese Language Training

Students and staff are provided opportunity to learn the Japanese Language in the campus.

The institution actively takes part in Socio Economic and Community activities through the participation the students and staffs.


Atchayam

A trust is formed by the students for the rehabilitation of panhandlers. Students on holidays visit prominent places, identify panhandlers, counsel them based on their mental and health condition and provide them employment opportunities or admit in orphanage or old age homes.


NSS Activities

NSS Volunteers organize service camps in neighboring villages. Cleaning the village, water bodies, planting saplings etc., are carried out every year.


Club Activities

The institution has several clubs which organize socioeconomic development programs and activities for the neighboring villages such as awareness on voting, polio, bold donation, eye and health checkup, E – marketing etc.,
