- The Department of Physics was established in the year 1998 and has group of staff to gratify the basic foundation to the needs of Engineering Graduates.
- The Department has five highly qualified and dedicated faculty members with specialization in various disciplines in Physics.
- The Department has been maintaining high academic standards and has been consistently securing the high grade in university examinations.
- The Department offers courses for all the first year B.E / B.Tech students as per the curriculum of Anna University.

| LABORATORY FACILITIES IN DETAIL: |

- The Department has well established Laboratory for conducting Physics Practical according to the Anna University Syllabus.
- In this Laboratory students are instructed to learn through experiment in various disciplines in Physics.
- A separate Dark Room is available to conduct experiments in Spectrometer and Laser.
- The Major Equipments include Laser Diffraction Kit, Band gap Setup, Ultrasonic Interferometer, Fibre Optic Kit, Hysteresis Setup, Lee’s Disc Apparatus, Torsional Pendulum, Spectrometer, etc.,.
