The fast depletion of fossil fuel, ever increasing cost of petroleum product and high emission, makes the researchers to search for the new alternate to fossil fuel. The present consumption of energy will double up within 7 years. Hence the contribution of energy sector will be significant to be development of national economy.
Bio diesel is noting but transesterified non edible oil unlike petro diesel it is a bio degradable and renewable fuel, it can displace the petro diesel completely or partially depending upon the usage.
In general bio diesel was superior to petro diesel in the aspect of emission. Some of the toxic emission produced during the conventional diesel fuel combustion is very less when compared to bio diesel fuel combustion.
The present research work mainly focused on the experimental and theoretical studies on physical and chemical properties of fuel as well as engine performance emission and combustion characteristics.The important advantage of bio diesel is that, it does not require any engine modification while it is being admitted into engine. |
