SSM Community Radio has been started to serve the community (in accordance with the locality of the radio station) and to bridge gaps of all the sections of the society in order to pave the way for the development of our country, with this intend SSM Community Radio has tagged itself with a quote "".
SSM Community Radio started its broadcasting on first World Radio Day (declared by UNESCO) with the broadcasting time duration of four hours per day and it has drastically improved its performance on Russian Federation sixty eight Radio Day by increasing its broadcasting time duration to twelve hours per day.
SSM Community Radio has become the first ever community radio in India to broadcast twelve hours a day on a very short span of eighty sixth day of its broadcasting. It is the one and only one community radio in this region which covers the area of Erode, Namakkal and Salem districts.
SSM Community Radio Station is located in the campus of SSM College of Engineering with the geographical position of its broadcasting antenna being 077E44429 and 11N2626, at the height of 30 meters above ground level. SSM Community Radio operates with the broadcasting antenna having 50 Watts R.F. power output, at the frequency of 90.8 MHz in FM band. Anyone available in and around 20 KMs from SSM College of Engineering campus can hear this radio through a simple FM radio receiver or FM radio enabled mobile phone or device. |
